ROMANELLO WINS EPT PRAGUE FOR BIGGEST CAREER WIN

Win Moves Romanello Up To Third Place On The Welsh All Time Money List Roberto Romanello has finally won a major poker title after winning the EPT Prague main event for a EUR640,000 (£540,000) pay day and entry into the EPT Grand Final. The 34-year-old Welshman was joined by 562 other poker players vying for EPT glory at the EUR5,000 (£4,230) main event which took place at the Golden Prague Poker room at the Hilton Prague Hotel.

Three Italians managed to make it to the eight-handed final table, with Marco Leonzio holding the chip lead. However, it was Emiliano Bono who lasted the longest, facing Romanello heads-up. The title was wrapped up and Swansea bound after Romanello's pocket 10s flopped a full house against Bono's AJ.

Romanello commented: ‛I've been trying to do this for a very long time. This means everything to me. I feel ecstatic. I felt I had so much support here, and I would like to thank everyone who has given it.“

As part of the EUR640,000, Romanello received a EUR10,000 (£8,460) seat to the EPT Grand Final which takes place in the spring of 2025. He is now up to third on the Welsh All Time Money list with $1,741,446 (£1.1m) in poker earnings, behind Dave Colclough and Mansour Matloubi, and one place ahead of former WSOPE main event runner-up John Tabatabai.
