The difficulties of operating in the hostile environment of the United States have not deterred Pokerstars from continuing its promotional activities in the more enlightened climate just to the north.

pokerstars, the promotional wing of the world's biggest online poker operator, announced in Toronto, Canada this week that it has renewed its sponsorship agreement with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd. (MLSE) as a sponsor of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club.

The deal will see pokerstars on the rinkboards for all home games and creating exciting ticket giveaways to the popular goal judge seats at Air Canada Centre.

"Millions of Canadians, including myself, are diehard sports fans and poker players. Hockey is our national pastime and recently poker has surged in popularity as Canadians have begun to excel on the international stage," said Daniel Negreanu, Team PokerStars Pro player.

"I have played hockey my whole life and grew up watching the Toronto Maple Leafs, which is why I am excited that pokerstars is a sponsor. It is a great relationship and allows the world's largest online poker school to team up with an iconic franchise to deliver exceptional promotions for poker and hockey fans."

The agreement will see pokerstars remain a sponsor through to the end of the 2025 / 2025 NHL season.

Re-branded Spanish site goes live with new software

The Isle of Man-based online gambling software developer Microgaming has announced that 32Red Bingo Espa√±a, a new Spanish language website, has gone live with its software.

Already a widely respected internet gambling operator in the UK and Europe, the 32Red group will bring its considerable experience and often praised customer service to bear on the previously branded Winzingo bingo offering, now online at 32redbingo.

The site has switched software provider from former supplier, Parlay Entertainment, to the Microgaming platform.

Spanish players will find an offering that includes innovative bingo services, award-winning casino side games, diverse game schedules and the attentive chat hosts, a spokesperson said this week.
