The French independent online poker operator winamax has surged to the head of the French internet poker market for cash games, according to the latest statistics from the independent online poker monitor site Pokerscout.
Winamax overtook Pokerstars.fr for the first time this week on the basis of a rolling 7-day average of cash game players. Winamax numbers showcased 1760 average players a day, outstripping the total of 1700 players at pokerstars.
The French site operates on proprietary software and now ranks around seventh globally, where it is closing in on pokerstars. Reports from the site indicate that over the past six months Winamax traffic has surged by 75 percent.
