Since exit from the United States market, network has lost 23% of its traffic

The latest statistics from the independent online poker monitor Pokerscout show that the Everleaf Poker Network's exit from the US market (see previous reports) has cost it dearly.

The network's traffic fell a further 2% last week, the third consecutive decline, and has shed 23% since the US pull out.

The monitor reports that Bodog traffic also fell 5% in a week that saw the disused Bodog domain seized by US enforcement officials and founder Calvin Ayre indicted. However, Pokerscout points out, the traffic decline is probably not directly attributable to the domain seizure, since Bodog had long since transitioned away from using the bodog domain.

Its assessment is that: "A slight tarnishing of the Bodog brand or simple random variation are more likely causes."

Pokerscout observes that the acquisition of the Ongame Network (see previous reports) announced this week will see the departure of former owner party digital from the network, although details are as yet unknown.

"Ongame has been working to strengthen the network against the loss of a major brand," Pokerscout notes. "Nevertheless, the network may lose 20% or more of its liquidity, which should translate to a sizable gain for PartyPoker."
