Jannick Wrang victorious in the EPT Campione tournament

Denmark's Jannick Wrang clinched the third consecutive European Poker Tour win for his countrymen (and himself) over the weekend, emerging the best of 570 entrants in the inaugural Pokerstars EPT Campione main event after a torrid 13 hour final table session.

Wrang is probably better known as an adept internet POL expert under the handle 'edwardhopper' but he proved to be equally at home in live action, claiming his first major live tournament victory. His spoils included the main Euro 640,000 prize, a $10,000 winners bracelet and the EPT trophy.

Going into the fourth day of the tournament, Wrang faced a stellar final table that included Olivier Busquet, Fabrice Soulier, Balazs Botond, Joen De Visscher, Mario Nagel, Stefano Puccilli and Robin Ylitalo.

By the time the action reached the heads up stage, Wrang faced the highly respected - and feared - heads up expert Olivier Busquet, although the Dane held the chip lead 10,410,000 to 6,680,000 at that point.

By the mandatory break after an hour and a quarter of play, Wrang had opened up his lead to around 3 to 1, and he exploited this in the very first hand after the break to take his opponent out.

Busquet took home the still-impressive runner up prize of Euro 430,000.
