Former online poker site owner now has a social game on Facebook

Hollywood celebrity Pam Anderson is back in the business, according to a press release Wednesday, which reports that the staris involved in the launch of the new BamPoker app on Facebook.

readers will recall that back in late 2025 Anderson fronted for pamelapoker, an online poker site that lasted about four months before falling over and being absorbed by the legendary Doyle Brunson. Anderson 's failure was probably due to the advent of UIGEA the month before, which wreaked havoc on the industry in the Unoted States.

At the time Anderson commented: "Poker site should have been shut down last month. I have nothing to do with it anymore. Too many shady areas. I really don't want to encourage people to gamble. This must be turned off. It just didn't work out. Even in my heart. Good luck to Doyle's Room. I love him. He is authentic to the game. I made a mistake getting involved in something I know nothing about for a quick buck! Yuck. So unlike me. Glad it's over."

It appears that Anderson has had a change of heart with the revelation this week that she is involved in the launch of the BamPoker app, where she will apparently play Texas Hold'em against admirers who sign up.

Being on Facebook, it's not for real money, of course with players winning virtual chips and experience points leading to ever more salubrious tables where they will play against other big names.

BamPoker is the brainchild of Canadian entrepreneurs Elton Pereira and Jeremy Nichele, who said in a statement this week:

We are committed to providing a fun, social and interactive gaming experience through quality game design. BamPoker encourages active user engagement and strong community spirit, something we feel has been missing from the online poker world.

Pereira and Nichele wanted BamPoker to have a personal touch like no other site, so who better to bring on board than Anderson as an active member of the BamPoker community where she maintains a fan page, plays Facebook poker, and periodically chats with members via the BamPoker App.

When I first met Elton and Jeremy, I knew they were on to something special, says Anderson. They weren't interested in creating just another game " they wanted to take the social elements of online poker in a bold new direction. There is nothing like BamPoker out there today, and I am excited to be a part of such an innovative platform!

There is no mention in the press material of Anderson 's former industry activity.
