A 888Poker spokesman announced on the twoplustwo message board Sunday that the company is removing heads up cash games from its online poker client in a bid to create a more recreational playing environment in which poker fans can compete in a fairer setting.
In keeping with our strategy to make our poker room competitive and fun, the decision has been made to remove the heads up cash games, the spokesman posted.
When this decision is to be implemented was not immediately clear.
888Poker is the latest poker operator to take action against "predatory" professional players discouraging ordinary customers; Microgaming, iPoker and PartyPoker have all implemented diverse individual initiatives aimed at achieving the same objectives.
