Isildur1 reclaims the top earning sport at $3.7 million

The mercurial Swedish poker ace Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom is back at the top after playing through one of his notorious 'cold' phases and riding the comeback wave to regain his losses.

The High Stakes Data Base reports that in his latest swing upwards Blom clashed with old enemy Douglas WCGRider Polk in a seven hour heads up endurance test that saw the young Swede boost his earnings by another $1.2 million, making him the year's top cash game winner on the Full Tilt nosebleed tables - a remarkable bounce back to the $3.7 million bracket after he went down by $2 million earlier this year.

Playing the $400/$800 No Limit Hold'em tables at Full Tilt, the duo hammered away for most of the day, with Blom initially dropping $450,000 before moving to other opponents to recoup his fortunes.

Returning to face Polk again, it looked as if Blom was about to have another of his bad days as he dropped another $250,000 but then the big turnabout began, taking Blom's profit at one point to $1.5 million.

Before the two players decided they had had enough for the day, Blom lost another $300,000 to Polk, eventually ending the session $1.2 million up.
